The Father That Would Not Let His Children Never Go To Bed

There was a big tree and he told his children it was time to go to sleep. His children were the leaves hanging on the branches up high. They said,

"Please can we hang just one day more?

So the big bare tree let them hang one day more. Yes sir, one day more. In the day the little leaflets whisper,

"If we plead, he might let us stay all the rest of the days."

The bare tree only smiled to hear the little whispering. And when the day was over they pleaded as hard as they could, but they could not move his large heart to let them stay forever. Down they flew with brown and red and yellow wings, away they flew, away to dreamland and to bed.

"Good night, my little leaflets. Long and happy may you sleep."

And when the little leaflets had flown down, they said to big father,

"How nice it is to go to bed."

Little cat run after mouse

Catsy, catsy, where are you? Always jumping over the wall. Always running after little mouse. Sometimes get him, sometimes don't. Little mouse has a little hole in the wall. And I know where. You know where too. You can't get in. Of course, I can't get in either. Little cat, little cat, although you always are cruel to the mouse, you're still a nice creature to have around, unless I am allergic to you.

Little Frog Polly

Once upon a time there was a little frog named Polly. And everybody loved the little frog because she was so merry, and she hopped around trying to find a hiding place in the sun, but very cheerily. She didn't want to make anyone sad, because they all loved her and everyone would be so sad if little Polly were sad. Once she had babies. And she was very happy. She took care of them. But a cat wanted to eat those little babies. He tried to but he couldn't. He tried to find eggs, but he couldn't. And when the babies hatched, they were just like their good mother Polly. They grew up just like her, only some were boys, of course.

Hamster Pampsty

Once upon a time there was a hamster. And he was named Hamster Pampsty. He was very happy. He was the king of the hamsters, and he always liked to run around in Carla's garden. Axa liked hamsters. She wanted to catch one. She could already catch lizards. The hamster did not want her to catch him. So his little army came with their little sticks, not spears at all. Stick, stick, stick. So they tried to kill Axa. But she only kicked them away. The end.

The Little Snail

Once there was a little snail. And he was a very happy snail. He was very fat, but he got too lazy, so he got so thin because he was too lazy to get his own food. Once a grasshopper brought him some food, and he thought the grasshopper should always do this, because he was his best friend. The snail thought that the grasshopper would always bring him food, and so he got so lazy that even when the grasshopper didn't bring him food, he didn't get his own food. He got so thin that he died.
